QUINLAN, Texas — A former Quinlan Independent School District teacher and coach, and most recently a Terrell Police Department police officer before his resignation in September 2015, has been arrested for an alleged sexual relationship with a student, the district's police department announced today.
Quinlan ISD Chief of Police Pete Ferrara says 39-year-old Bradley K. Lewis was arrested on October 26, 2015, in Kaufman County for two outstanding warrants for sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and student.
The warrants, obtained by the Quinlan ISD Police Department, allege Lewis engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old female student at Ford High School during the 2013-14 school year.
Lewis left the district in 2014 and later became employed by the Terrell Police Department as a police officer where he resigned on September 2, 2015, amid a criminal probe by the Quinlan ISD Police Department and an official oppression investigation by the Terrell Police Department.
According to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom, the Terrell Police Department concluded their investigation and found no criminal activity had occurred in their jurisdiction.
The Quinlan ISD Police Department charges will be prosecuted through the Hunt County District Attorney’s Office.
