TERRELL, Texas β One person was arrested following a brief police pursuit from Terrell to Sunnyvale on Friday afternoon.
At approximately 6 p.m., the Terrell Police Department responded to Brookshire's in the 1400 block of West Moore Avenue in reference to a disturbance, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom. Upon making contact with the subject in the disturbance, he fled from police in his vehicle westbound on U.S. Highway 80.
The suspect, later identified as 52-year-old Anthony Anderson of Terrell, Texas, fled police in excess of 100 miles per hour β passing through Forney and into Dallas County.
The Forney Police Department and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter joined the pursuit.
The vehicle came to an abrupt stop on westbound U.S. Highway 80 in Sunnyvale between the Collins Road and North Belt Line Road exits after the suspect's vehicle ran out of gas. One person was taken into custody after a felony stop.
Anderson was tased during his arrest and observed by EMS on scene before being released to the Terrell Police Department.
"This vehicle and suspect were reported to be involved in a robbery in Red Oak last night," according to Sansom. "The clerk got the license plate number and it was registered to an address in Terrell."
Sansom says police, at the request of the Red Oak Police Department, attempted to located the vehicle last night at its registered address but did not locate the vehicle. The vehicle is now being held in reference to the Red Oak robbery for further processing.
The Mesquite Police Department was also requested for assistance.
Anderson faces charges for evading arrest, strong arm robbery, and continuous family violence, according to Sansom.
