FORNEY, Texas — A 48-year-old Forney woman was jailed and is now facing charges for forgery of a financial instrument and theft of more than $200,000 from the First Baptist Church of Heath.
FORNEY, Texas — A 48-year-old Forney woman was jailed and is now facing charges for forgery of a financial instrument and theft of more than $200,000 from the First Baptist Church of Heath.
On February 6, 2017, 48-year-old Tonya Wynette Wright was arrested by the Heath Department of Public Safety and booked into the Rockwall County Jail on charges for forgery of a financial instrument and theft of property more than $150,000 and less than $300,000, a first-degree felony.
"Wright is alleged to have stolen over $200,000 from her employer, the First Baptist Church of Heath, where she had been employed for approximately five years," Heath Department of Public Safety Sergeant Brian Burton told inForney.com.
Wright was released from the Rockwall County Jail on February 7, 2017, after posting $90,000 in bonds on the two charges, according to Rockwall County Jail records.
