HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — A Henderson County woman was arrested Thursday morning and charged with capital murder of a person under the age of 10 in connection with the shooting deaths of her two children, according to Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.

29-year-old Sarah Nicole Henderson was booked into the Henderson County Jail earlier today on the charge. Bond had not been set at the time of press.

Hillhouse says the incident began late Wednesday night after a report of a possibly suicidal female. After responding to the home, a male and female told deputies they were fine and no one was in danger or jeopardy.

Nearly three hours later, deputies returned to the home after a man called 911 reporting a woman had shot her children.

The two children, girls ages seven and five, were both pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Hillhouse. Both were taken for forensic examination in Dallas.

The call for a suicidal female came in at 11:29 p.m. on Wednesday. Deputies arrived at 11:45 p.m. The 911 call reporting the shooting came in at 2:24 a.m.

The Texas Rangers, Child Protective Services, and the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office are assisting with the investigation.

Henderson, according to her since-deleted Facebook profile, attended Forney High School and is from Forney, Texas, although her jail records indicate her current address is in Mabank, Texas.

"Today our hearts are breaking as this morning we received news that two Southside students, a kindergartner and a second grader, were killed in their home," Mabank ISD Superintendent Russell Marshall stated in a letter to parents. "This was a domestic issue and no one else is in danger."

Counselors have been made available to Southside students and employees.

"Please bathe the Southside campus with your thoughts and prayers at this trying time.," he said.

This is a developing story.
