FORNEY, Texas — A high-speed chase initiated by the Fort Worth Police Department ended in Kaufman County Wednesday morning, following a reported theft of $30 and a few bags of chips from a local Little League concession stand.
The chase began early Wednesday when the University Little League in Fort Worth, Texas, reported a break-in at their Snack Shack concession stands at the baseball fields on Old Hemphill Road.
Surveillance footage showed a man prying open the large door of the concession stand counter and crawling inside, causing an estimated $3,000 in damage, according to WFAA.
The Fort Worth Police Department was alerted and arrived on the scene just as a white Ford Taurus, occupied by a man and two women, was fleeing.
The ensuing high-speed pursuit covered about 60 miles, crossing from Tarrant County into Dallas County, around Fair Park, and ultimately into Kaufman County.
The chase ended when the suspect vehicle experienced a flat tire and surrendered near FM 740 and FM 2757, just south of Forney and west of Heartland.
Arrested were 37-year-old Haley Lynch, 41-year-old Leila Salinas, and 46-year-old Bobby Dewayne Williams, according to police.
