Kaufman County Overall Crime Trends Downward In 2023

As Kaufman County continues to see record growth, our county's overall crime rate is showing a downward trend.

Information obtained by inForney.com from the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office shows that between January 2023 and January 2024, sexual offenses were down 42.9%, and during the same period, larceny/theft offenses were down 27.7%. Motor vehicle theft is down 72.7%, and destruction/damage/vandalism of property is down 28.6%.

Crime stats trending upward are animal cruelty - up by 40%, fraud offenses are up by 4.2%, and simple assault is up by 20.8%.

Sources inside Kaufman County government recently told inForney.com that the county has around 1,500 people moving to the county monthly, which were cited by workforce statistics.

Sheriff Bryan Beavers told inForney.com that it takes all law enforcement agencies working together to keep Kaufman County safe.

“I’m proud to say that amidst unprecedented growth, overall crime is trending downward in Kaufman County,” said Beavers. “Thank you to the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office and all our local law enforcement agencies for working to keep Kaufman County safe.
