TERRELL, Texas — Police in Kaufman County and Van Zandt County are seeking a man who allegedly stole a pickup truck, used a stolen check, and led police on a pursuit Thursday morning.

On Thursday, September 28, 2017, at 8:08 a.m., the Terrell Police Department was dispatched to the American National Bank in reference to a man who was passing a stolen check, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

Sansom says it was also determined the man was driving a stolen truck.

Upon officers arrival, the man, identified by police as 32-year-old Bradley Perry, fled the location in the stolen pickup truck at a high rate of speed. He drove on the wrong side of the road and into oncoming traffic several times in an attempt to evade police.

The pursuit traveled down West Moore Avenue, to Farm-to-Market (FM) 148, and south to around FM 987 in the Talty area. At least one vehicle was struck during the pursuit.

Due to Perry’s erratic driving and inclement weather conditions, police lost sight of his vehicle. Perry was last spotted by a Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office unit on FM 148 near FM 987.

The Texas Department of Public Safety also joined in the search for the vehicle Thursday morning.

Perry is wanted out of Van Zandt County on an active burglary warrant, according to Sansom.
