FORNEY, Texas — Nearly a year after being jailed for breaking into an Iraq War veteran’s home and still awaiting trial, a Forney man is behind bars again for burglary of a vehicle.

Police used surveillance video to positively identify 23-year-old Lance Pernell Williams last year when he broke into the Iraq War veteran’s home in the Diamond Creek neighborhood of Forney — stealing therapeutic golf clubs and other belongings.

Recently, Williams was again captured on surveillance video stealing items from the bed of a truck which was also in the Diamond Creek neighborhood. Investigators with the Forney Police Department issued an arrest warrant for Williams for burglary of a vehicle, a class A misdemeanor, and arrested him on the charge earlier this week.

Williams is still awaiting trial on the original burglary of a habitation charge, a second-degree felony, which occurred in July 2015 and had a plea hearing scheduled for August 31, 2016. Sources tell inForney.com any plea bargain has now been pulled from the table in that case.

Williams was being held at the Forney Police Department jail on a $4,500 bond. Its unknown if he has posted bond or been transferred to the Kaufman County Jail.

Investigators say the case is still an ongoing investigation and believe, based on electronic tracking forensics, other items may have been stolen in the area. Additional charges may be filed in this case.

Anyone in the Diamond Creek neighborhood who has home surveillance or suspects their vehicle to be burglarized is encouraged to contact Forney Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division at (972) 564-7607.

In the 2015 home burglary incident, Williams attempted to sell the stolen golf clubs via Craigslist and had arranged to meet the seller at his Diamond Creek home, just streets away from his victim’s home. A 911 tip alerted police to the sale, Williams was arrested, and later released on bond.
