TERRELL, Texas — In addition to drug charges, a Terrell man is facing a criminal mischief charge after allegedly smearing his feces inside his padded jail cell Thursday morning.
The man, identified as 33-year-old Ronnie Lynn Porter, was arrested Thursday morning after the Terrell Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, with assistance from patrol officers, executed a search warrant at 101 Cherokee Street, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
Upon arrival, at approximately 9:35 a.m., officers located Porter outside the residence standing under a carport and could smell marijuana emitting from the property.
Narcotics investigators located a small, clear plastic baggie containing suspected crack cocaine and another small, clear plastic baggie containing suspected marijuana on the kitchen table. Investigators also located several digital scales commonly used to weigh illegal narcotics, marijuana grinders, two hookah glass pipes commonly used to smoke marijuana, one semi-automatic handgun, and one rifle loaded with 17 live rounds in an attached magazine as well as one live round in the chamber, according to Sansom.
Investigators also seized $1,235 in U.S. currency believed to be the proceeds from the sale of illegal narcotics.
Porter was arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than four ounces and less than 200 grams and possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
While in a holding cell at the Terrell Police Department Municipal Detention Center, Porter began beating against the walls, creating a disruption, and was relocated to a padded cell for his own safety according to Sansom. Its there that Porter allegedly smeared his own feces on the walls of his cell.
“His actions resulted in additional charging of Criminal Mischief>$100<$750 for the required Bio-cleanup of the cell,” stated Sansom.
The suspected crack cocaine tested presumptive positive and weighed 8.3 grams. The marijuana weighed 1.6 grams.
