TERRELL, Texas — A nation-wide manhunt for a man wanted in connection with a Terrell homicide has come to an end more than a thousand miles from where it began.
Yesterday, National Park Service rangers stationed at Grand Canyon National Park conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by a male driver who was not wearing his seatbelt.
That male driver, identified as Darrius Johnson Jr., was wanted in connection with the shooting death of 23-year-old Billy Gardner Jr. on May 28, 2018.
"The arrest brings to a close the nationwide search for Johnson," stated Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
The Terrell Police Department is now coordinating with the United States Marshals Office to arrange Johnson's extradition back to Kaufman County, according to Sansom.
