On Thursday, June 14, 2012 at around 11:30 am, Forney Police received a call about a reckless driver heading west on US Hwy 80, almost out of the city limits. Dispatch was advised to transfer the call to Mesquite Police Department, the next upcoming jurisdiction.
On Thursday, June 14, 2012 at around 11:30 am, Forney Police received a call about a reckless driver heading west on US Hwy 80, almost out of the city limits. Dispatch was advised to transfer the call to Mesquite Police Department, the next upcoming jurisdiction.
Shortly afterwards, Mesquite PD contacted Forney PD and advised they had the vehicle stopped. A large amount of property was found in the vehicle and included was a checkbook from a residence in Forney. While Forney Police Officers were on their way to where the vehicle was stopped, another Forney Police Officer responded to the address on the found check book. The back door was found open when the officer arrived and it appeared that the door had been forced. The officer checked the residence and noticed that the house had been ransacked and apparent items were missing. Eyewitnesses told officers they saw a maroon pickup, which matched the description to the vehicle stopped, in the area. They told officers that they were going to peoples doors asking if they could mow their yards.
While at the scene in Mesquite, one of the three male subjects occupying the vehicle that was stopped admitted to have broken into two houses in Forney. All three males were detained and taken to Forney PD for questioning. During interviews with Detectives, they admitted to committing the burglaries in Forney. The two residences were located and the owners notified. Later on the same night, a third residence reported their house had been burglarized and it was also admitted to by the suspects in a second interview with Detectives.
Arrested were Joe Sierra of Dallas, Jeremy David Williams of Mesquite, and Otto William Paukner of Dallas. The three men were each charged with one count of Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and three counts each of Burglary of a Habitation. Bonds were set for Sierra at $500,000.00 for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and $100,000.00 each for the three Burglary of a Habitation charges. Bonds set for Williams are $200,000.00 for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, and $50,000.00 each for the Burglary of a Habitation charges, and Paukner’s bonds are $100,000.00 for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity and $25,000.00 each for the Burglary of a Habitation charges.
