One arrested following narcotics search warrant execution in Terrell

TERRELL, Texas — One person was arrested after members of the Terrell Police Department SWAT team and Narcotics Unit served a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of San Jacinto Street in Terrell on Friday morning.

TERRELL, Texas — One person was arrested after members of the Terrell Police Department SWAT team and Narcotics Unit served a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of San Jacinto Street in Terrell on Friday morning.

At approximately 7 a.m., police knocked and announced before forcing entry into the house and detaining 60-year-old Jerry David Sanders, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

Suspected methamphetamine and methamphetamine smoking pipes were located next to a bed in Sanders' room which later tested presumptive positive and weighed 3.6 grams, according to Sansom.

Sanders was placed under arrested and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1, greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams.

Sanders was the sole occupant of the one-bedroom duplex which had four surveillance cameras positioned around its exterior, Sansom stated.

Additionally, investigators seized $1,115 from Sanders' wallet which is believed to be the proceeds of narcotics sales, two plastic baggies containing a clear shard-like substance beleived to be methamphetamine, three glass smoking pipes, one black LG cell phone, the surveillance system DVR and cameras, one Quacker Oats container with multiple unused small baggies commonly used to package and distribute illegal narcotics, and one package of syringes.
