KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Kaufman County Crime Stoppers organization is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest of the person, or persons, responsible for abandoning approximately 40 dogs and puppies on a rural county road.
The organization said the dogs and puppies were abandoned in April in the area of County Road 4027 and the Becker Community Center which is located northeast of Kemp, Texas.
The dogs which were rescued were reportedly in good condition. The Furry Friendzy Animal Rescue and Wildlife Rehabilitation initially responded with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office to rescue the abandoned dogs. The dogs were scanned for microchips but none were found. Furry Friendzy is now assisting with the adoption of the dogs. For information on adoptions, email adoptions@furryfriendzy.org.
The incident was listed as “Crime of the Week” on the organization’s website on April 17, 2015, and posted to social media Saturday afternoon and had already received nearly 200 shares.
