TALTY, Texas — Two men who were arrested in connection with Talty-area burglary and theft cases are suspected in similar cases across northeast Texas, according to police.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office says they were working closely with the Garland Police Department and Sachse Department Investigators in auto theft and burglary cases which originated in the Talty-area.

Those efforts culminated in an arrest earlier this month when one of the alleged suspects, 19-year-old Jack Eckiss of Sachse, Texas, was located inside one of the stolen vehicles from the Talty-area Highland Prairie neighborhood while in Garland, Texas, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Investigator Jolie Stewart told inForney.com.

Stewart says Eckiss was also in the company of 23-year-old Taylor Connaster, also of Sachse, Texas, who was in possession of a separate stolen vehicle which contained items from a recently reported vehicle burglary in the Highland Prairie neighborhood.

Eckiss and Connaster are being held at the Dallas County Jail on multiple charges. Eckiss has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle with a $50,000 bond, fraudulent use or possession of identifying information between 10 and 50 items on a $50,000 bond, and theft over $2,500 and under $10,000 on a $50,000 bond. Connaster has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle with a $50,000 and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon on a $50,000 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.

Stewart says the other Talty-area burglaries and thefts are believed to be related to Eckiss and Connaster and the pair have been linked to several burglaries and thefts throughout northeast Texas.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office has notified owners of any recovered property, stated Stewart.

“We encourage Talty residents who have not reported suspicious activity or other crimes to contact Investigators at the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office (972) 932-4337,” she said. “If calling after hours, contact our Dispatch Center at (469) 376-4500.”
