TERRELL, Texas — The Terrell Police Department is investigating a possible animal cruelty case after a dog, they believe may have already been deceased, was found burned.
On May 19, 2016, at approximately 11 a.m., Terrell Animal Control was dispatched to the 10000 block of County Road 305 for a deceased dog which was found to have been set on fire, according to the Terrell Police Department in a Friday morning press release.
“The carcass appeared to have been burned inside a plastic white bag,” stated the release. “The collar and tether were located at the scene as well.”
The Terrell Police Department says the dog had visible injuries but police believe the dog may have been deceased prior to the fire.
The exact cause of the dog’s death remains under investigation.
The dog was identified as a brindle-colored male Pit Bull.
