TERRELL, Texas — Its been nearly a month since a man was shot multiple times during an alleged drug deal gone bad in Terrell at Taco Bell.

The alleged gunman, identified only as "Grizzly," remains at large, according to police.

Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom says investigators are following several leads in order to positively identify Grizzly.

On Saturday night, October 21, 2017, two Quinlan men, identified as 19-year-old Mathew Riley and 19-year-old Kaden Weigand, went to the Taco Bell to purchase marijuana from Grizzly.

Riley went inside Taco Bell to meet with Grizzly when, moments later, he was observed running out of the restaurant being chased by a black male, presumably Grizzly. Riley jumped into the truck and Weigand, who was driving, attempted to flee the location.

Grizzly jumped onto the passenger side of the truck and shot Riley multiple times and was thrown from the vehicle. He fled on foot south from West Moore Avenue.

In photo surveillance photos, obtained by inForney.com earlier today, a portion of Grizzly is seen hanging from the side of the truck.

Police are seeking a person of interest for questioning in the case. The person of interest was captured on surveillance video standing next to a black vehicle outside of the Taco Bell.

Weigand drove to the back parking lot of Fast Eddies where they sought help for Riley. Riley was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital and has since been released.

Anyone with information on Grizzly or the person of interest is encouraged to contact the Terrell Police Department at (469) 474-2700. Additionally, a reward up to $1,000 is being offered by the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. Kaufman County Crime Stoppers can be reached at (877) 847-7522. Tips through the crimes stoppers remain anonymous.

Again, police say the person of interest is sought for questioning and is not the suspected gunman.
