FORNEY, Texas — The three men suspected of a home invasion and robbery at a Forney home in June have been indicted by a Kaufman County Grand Jury.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of Redbud Drive and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Police discovered a weapon in the vehicle and detained the driver.
During the traffic stop, officers observed a male exit a nearby home with a duffel bag and, upon seeing the officers, ran back inside the home.
The officers approached the house and knocked on the door and heard someone inside calling for help. The officers entered the home and found the resident tied up on the floor, according to a press release at the time. Two suspects inside the house fled out the back door.
Officers with the Forney Police Department and the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office arrested the two fleeing suspects in the Chicken Express parking lot on Pinson Road — less than a mile from the residence.
Police identified the three suspects as Larry Eugene Ransom III of Dallas, Texas, Darius Franchot Madden, Jr., of Mesquite, Texas, and Ray Emmitt Madden of Forney, Texas.
In a list of indictments handed down yesterday, all three suspects were indicted with one count each of burglary of a habitation/intend other felony.
All three remain jailed at the Kaufman County Jail at the time of this report.
Ranson is being held on the burglary indictment on a $200,000 bond as well as a charge for engaging in organized criminal activity on a $100,000.
Darius Madden is being held on the burglary indictment and a charge for engaging in organized criminal activity with $1 million bonds each. He is also being held on a $200 hold out of Dallas County.
Ray Madden is being held on burglary indictment with a $350,000 bond, engaging in organized criminal activity with a $350,000 bond, and criminal mischief between $50 and $500 on a $5,000 bond. The criminal mischief charge stems from Madden allegedly causing damage to the patrol vehicle he was placed in after his arrest. He is also being held on $42,000 in bonds out of Dallas County.
