Last month, 18-year-old Kent Solomon Johnson was arrested by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office after a reported burglary in the 500 block of Carl C Senter in Forney. At the time of the burglary, the homeowner called police and reported seeing a black male flee in a black Kia Soul.
Minutes later, deputies with the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office detained Johnson on Jack County Drive in Travis Ranch after their department received several reports of stolen lawn equipment, tools, and gas cans in the area.
Johnson was arrested and charged by Kaufman County with two counts of burglary of a habitation with $75,000 bonds on each charge. Upon further investigation, the Forney Police Department served Johnson, who remained jailed at the Kaufman County Jail, with five warrants for burglary of a habitation on bonds of $50,000 each.
The Forney Police Department also determined a second male, identified as 19-year-old Robert Lyell Sanner, was allegedly involved in four of the Forney incidents. Sanner, who has a Travis Ranch address, was arrested on September 10, 2015, and charged with four counts of burglary of a habitation with bonds set a $35,000 each.
The Forney charges, according to incident reports obtained by inForney.com, occurred between July 22, 2015, and August 13, 2015, in the 200 block of Colgate Drive, the 500 block of Appaloosa Drive, the 100 block of Aspenwood Trail, the 100 block of Redbud Drive, and the 500 block of Carl C. Senter Street.
Johnson and Sanner are accused of stealing $920 worth of miscellaneous tools, air compressors, gas cans with fuel, weedeaters, blowers, edgers, and other miscellaneous lawn equipment on the first four incidents in Forney. Johnson is additionally accused of stealing $650 worth of miscellaneous lawn equipment from the fifth incident in Forney.
Two of the victims reported seeing a black male flee in a black Kia Soul in the direction of Pinson Road, having just taken something from their garage, according to the reports. Also, two of the victims reported the burglaries occurred while their overhead garage door was open, one overnight.
At the time of Johnson’s arrest, several Travis Ranch victims and the Carl C Senter Street victim were called to the location to identify their stolen property.
