TERRELL, Texas — Two people were arrested in connection with a cell phone story burglary in Terrell after police tracked a stolen cell phone to a Dallas motel.

Police believe the two arrests may clear several other area burglaries.

At approximately 12:28 a.m., on Friday, May 11, 2018, the Terrell Police Department responded to 1880 West Moore Avenue in reference to an alarm at the Sprint Store.

There, responding officers discovered the front door glass was broken, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

"Security footage showed a white male, slender build, approximately 5'10" wearing a black hoodie and ball cap, ripped jeans and black shoes and gloves, enter the business and select several phones and leave the location in a black passenger car," he said.

The business owner was able to ping one of the stolen cell phones which led police to the Valley View Motel located at 8241 CF Hawn Freeway in Dallas, Texas.

"Terrell Detectives responded there at 8:41 a.m. and they were refused entry and attempts to force the door initially were unsuccessful," stated Sansom. "Dallas Police Department SWAT was called for assistance."

Police eventually made forced entry into the motel room where 26-year-old Heather Williams and 38-year-old Eric Cummins, both of Dallas, Texas, were arrested.

Sansom says there are substantial indicators these two arrests may clear other area burglaries.

The case remains under investigation by multiple agencies.
