KAUFMAN, Texas — A woman on the run for more than a week, wanted on charges for aggravated robbery and child endangerment, turned herself in this morning, according to the Kaufman Police Department.
Her young daughter, who was with her during the aggravated robbery and a subsequent high-speed police chase, is safe and doing well, according to the department.
25-year-old Megan Michelle Boulter turned herself in shortly after 5 a.m. this morning.
Boulter was identified last week after numerous crime stoppers tips were received in reference to the Kaufman Police Department sought her identity following an aggravated robbery at the Kaufman Walmart earlier this month.
Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black says Boulter stole from the Walmart store in Kaufman, Texas, and, while attempting to flee, tried to run over a Walmart loss prevention employee which resulted in a charge for aggravated robbery.
Boulter then led Crandall police on a high-speed pursuit. Due to her erratic driving, and because police knew the child was in the vehicle, pursuing officers called off the chase, according to Black.
Boulter is being held at the Kaufman County Jail on charges for abandon or endanger a child with criminal negligence, abandon or endanger a child with imminent danger of bodily injury, aggravated robbery, evading arrest of detention with previous conviction, and theft of property greater than or equal to $50 and less than $500. Boulter’s current bond total, as of Thursday afternoon, is $143,500.
The theft charge stems from an incident in Henderson County.
