CRANDALL, Texas — The Texas Education Agency (TEA) recently released honor distinctions that can be earned by campuses based on the results of the STAAR test.
Two Crandall schools earned honors and distinctions. A campus can earn up to 7 distinctions based on achievement in performance indicators relative to a group of 40 campuses of similar type, size and student demographics.
Nola K. Wilson Elementary earned a distinction in Postsecondary Readiness.
Crandall High School earned 6 of a possible 7 distinctions in Academic Achieve- ment in Mathematics, Academic Achievement in Science, Academic Achieve- ment in Social Studies, Top 25 Percent in Student Progress, Top 25 Percent in Closing Performance Gaps and in Postsecondary Readiness.
“Earning one or more distinctions is noteworthy and should be a source of Pride in a community, “ said Education Commissioner Mike Morath in a TEA re- leased Press Release.
Additionally, Crandall ISD received a “Met Standard” rating for the district and for each of its schools for the 2015-2016 school year.
