FORNEY, Texas – KFNY: True Texas Radio, Forney’s digital radio station has been nominated for Internet Radio Station of the Year by the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.
FORNEY, Texas – KFNY: True Texas Radio, Forney’s digital radio station has been nominated for Internet Radio Station of the Year by the Texas Regional Radio Music Awards.
Started in 2016 by Forney resident and radio enthusiast, Will Rigdon, the station offers a variety of programming including live local and regional sports, weekly programming and music from its studios in downtown Forney.
KFNY was also a finalist for Internet Station of the Year with the Texas Country Music Association in September 2017. Rigdon is a finalist for On Air Personality of the Year for the 4th consecutive year.
“I love Forney and I felt that our town was truly missing the aspect of a full time radio station. So I decided to take a chance and jump out there on that ledge and hope that listeners and fellow businesses would support the idea,” Rigdon said. Thankfully, it’s worked out so far.”
Listeners can be a part of helping KFNY bring awards home to Forney by voting online. Voting has already begun and resumes through midnight on Monday, February 5th.
