FORNEY, Texas — Approximately 125 floats are expected at this year’s third annual Unity Bowl Parade which is scheduled for this Saturday, November 1, 2014.
The parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. at the Jackrabbit Stadium at Warren Middle School located at 811 South Bois D’Arc. Although the route has slightly changed, it will still continue down Bois D’Arc into historic downtown Forney. Once downtown, the route will turn right onto East Main Street, turn right at Holly Leaf Trail, and end in the First Baptist Church Parking lot.
The change in route was made to alleviate traffic congestion at the conclusion of the parade, according to organizers.
The Unity Bowl Parade kicks off the week of preparation Forney High School and North Forney High School will begin leading up to the third annual cross-town rivalry football game, the Unity Bowl.
The Unity Bowl will be played at City Bank Stadium on Friday, November 7, 2014, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
