FORNEY, Texas — A 46-year-old Terrell man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Sunday afternoon, according to Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials.
The crash was reported at 3:19 p.m. on Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 in the sharp s-curve approximately half a mile south of Interstate 20, Texas DPS spokesperson Kyle Bradford told inForney.com.
46-year-old David J Solomon was unresponsive when a passerby called 911 and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Bradford.
Troopers investigating the crash determined Solomon was traveling at a high rate of speed when he entered the s-curve, lost control, and left the road. Solomon was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to Bradford.
The Forney Fire Department, a CareFlite ambulance, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the crash. A CareFlite medical helicopter was initially placed on standby but disregarded.
