FORNEY, Texas — An accident on westbound U.S. Highway 80 is causing rush-hour delays in both directions Tuesday.
The accident, involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan, occurred just after 5 p.m. on westbound U.S. Highway 80 just before the East Fork Trinity River bridge near the Kaufman-Dallas County line. The sedan wrecked through the center cable median and the 18-wheeler is parked on the right shoulder.
As of 5:09 p.m., the left lane of westbound U.S. Highway 80 is closed. Onlooker delays exist on the eastbound side of the highway and are reported back as far as Interstate Highway 635.
No injuries were reported in the accident.
All Forney Fire Department and Forney Police Department units cleared the scene by 6:15 p.m. however, the Texas Department of Public Safety remained.
