TERRELL, Texas — A single-vehicle accident near the intersection of State Highway (SH) 205 and U.S. Highway 80 in Terrell, Texas, caused power outages in the area and could be several hours before it is restored, according to officials.
TERRELL, Texas — A single-vehicle accident near the intersection of State Highway (SH) 205 and U.S. Highway 80 in Terrell, Texas, caused power outages in the area and could be several hours before it is restored, according to officials.
Just before 6:30 p.m., a vehicle struck a power pole on SH 205 north of U.S. Highway 80/West Moore Avenue and caused a power line to snap and fall onto another line resulting in a serious of power arches. The arches created several very bright flashes and resulted in power outage in the area.
The woman was transported to an area hospital following the accident. No other injuries were reported.
Oncor representatives are reporting the outage could last four to five hours. Walmart and Napolis Italian Restaurant are the only businesses who remain affected by the outage, according to Oncor.
Oncor emergency technicians are on scene preparing to repair the downed line.
