SCURRY, Texas — Traffic is alternating lanes on State Highway (SH) 34 in Scurry, Texas, following an 18-wheeler wreck on Monday afternoon.


SCURRY, Texas — Traffic is alternating lanes on State Highway (SH) 34 in Scurry, Texas, following an 18-wheeler wreck on Monday afternoon.


The wreck was reported at approximately 1 p.m. on State Highway 34. The 18-wheeler was reported to have jack-knifed which resulted in its load falling from its flatbed trailer. No injuries were reported.

As of 1:45 p.m., the northbound lane is closed and firefighters are alternating traffic in the southbound lane.

Crews worked to clear debris from the roadway and a heavy-duty wrecker will likely be required to remove the 18-wheeler’s load from the northbound shoulder.

The Scurry Volunteer Fire Department, CareFlite, Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public safety responded to the crash.
