FORNEY, Texas — The Bank of America in Forney was evacuated at approximately 11:15 a.m. after an unknown odor was detected and several bank employees fell ill.
Three of the bank employees fell ill and two are being transported to area hospitals for further evaluation, according to Forney Fire Department Fire Marshal John Holcomb.
The building was completely evacuated and the parking lot was cordoned off for emergency vehicles only.
At 11:45 a.m., a Garland Department of Health hazmat team was dispatched to perform air quality checks at the bank. Preliminary checks did not indicate gas or carbon monoxide, according to Holcomb who said the building is not equipped with natural gas.
The bank was later given the "all clear" by the Garland team, according to Holcomb.
This is a developing story.
