FORNEY, Texas – Brookshire's delivered over 700 cases of Gatorade to the Forney Fire Department on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.
The donation was made possible through a Gatorade drive at Brookshire's which rewarded customers with Brookshire's yourpoints each time they donated five bottles of Gatorade.
“I think everyone at the department was amazed at the generosity of Brookshire's and especially the customers that stepped up and wanted to do this,” Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend told inForney.com.
This year marks the second consecutive year Brookshire's and Gatorade have partnered for the drive.
“We were overwhelmed. We had to store them in the engine bay, in the bathrooms, anywhere we could,” he said. “But that's a good problem to have.”
The fire department stocks their fire trucks with Gatorade and water which is used by police officers, paramedics, and other individuals assisting at emergency situations, fires, and accidents for rehab.
