CRANDALL, Texas – Brookshire Brothers presented the Crandall Volunteer Fire Department with a $5,000 check today – a more than 100 percent match of the funds the department raised at their 60th anniversary fish fry celebration on July 26, 2014.
CRANDALL, Texas – Brookshire Brothers presented the Crandall Volunteer Fire Department with a $5,000 check today – a more than 100 percent match of the funds the department raised at their 60th anniversary fish fry celebration on July 26, 2014.
The department raised $4,942 at their fish fry which featured a 40-foot Tony Chachere's cook trailer, live music, and door prizes. The event was expected to last four hours but, due to an overwhelming response from the community, was sold out of food within the first hour.
Brookshire Brothers Store Director Ernest Catuncan presented the check to Crandall Volunteer Fire Department Chief Allen Cousins earlier today at the Brookshire Brothers' grocery store in Crandall, Texas.
“Thank you Brookshire Brothers for your donation and for supporting the Crandall FD,” stated the department's Facebook Page.
