KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A child was flown to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, after a horse-riding accident south of Terrell, Texas, on Sunday afternoon.
The accident was reported around 6 p.m. in the 10000 block of County Road 305 which is just outside the southern city limits of Terrell, Texas. A CareFlite ambulance initially responded and requested the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department to establish a landing zone for a CareFlite medical helicopter.
The helicopter landed behind Raftor J Cowboy Church and airlifted the child, which was reportedly under the age of 10, to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The child’s condition was not immediately available.
inForney.com was unable to reach Raftor J Church or Jeff Smith’s Cowboy Collection Tack and Arena, also known as S & S Arena, which is located adjacent to the church on Farm-to-Market (FM) 148. It is unknown if the accident was related to a Lone Star High School Rodeo Association rodeo at S & S Arena or an open arena event at the church.
