FORNEY, Texas (City of Forney) — During a spring City Council meeting, Council members approved a resolution to make the necessary preparations for the "Imagine Forney" comprehensive plan. The purpose of this plan is to implement a community engagement process, promoting early public involvement and to encourage diverse and active discussions. "Imagine Forney" will also provide an opportunity for local government officials and residents to work together by connecting civic challenges with the community problem-solvers.
FORNEY, Texas (City of Forney) — During a spring City Council meeting, Council members approved a resolution to make the necessary preparations for the "Imagine Forney" comprehensive plan. The purpose of this plan is to implement a community engagement process, promoting early public involvement and to encourage diverse and active discussions. "Imagine Forney" will also provide an opportunity for local government officials and residents to work together by connecting civic challenges with the community problem-solvers.
"The comprehensive plan is used as a guide to direct future growth, development, and redevelopment of a community, it also plays an important role in a community's decision-making process," said Forney Director of Community Development, Peter Morgan. "The "Imagine Forney" plan will help set the framework for the physical development of land over a five-year period and include sections devoted to land use, parks, trails, open space, roadways, and much more."
Through topics and activities online, residents will have the opportunity to answer questions from local officials, as well as provide their own ideas, while also having the ability to comment on other ideas offered from fellow residents. Residents will also be able to add an idea, leave a comment or rate other ideas, vote in a poll, fill out a simple survey, submit a photo and much more.
To begin the process, the City has created a webpage at www.imagineforney.com, which includes information about the project, description of the process and contact information. An FAQ section has already been added to the website.
