FORNEY, Texas — Forney City Manager Brian Brooks resigned following a brief executive session at the beginning of Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
Beginning the meeting, the Forney City Council went into closed executive session with Assistant City Manager Leigh Corson in Brooks’ seat at the council table.
Brooks officially announced his resignation to the city council during executive session. Upon returning to open session, the city council voted, 6-1 with a nay vote from council member Robbie Powers, to approve Brooks’ resignation and a proposed severance package.
Corson will be acting city manager.
Terms of the resignation are unknown at this time.
