FORNEY, Texas (City of Forney) – In alignment with the City's goal of streamlining the permit process and being more responsive to both residents and developers, individuals will now be able to apply and pay for permits online through the ePayment Center on the City's website. The Community Development Department will now have different pages for the various permits residents or developers can apply for, such as permanent and temporary signs, mobile vendor, food establishment, fence and certain swimming pool permits. Individuals will also have the opportunity to attach all necessary documents needed in completing the process.

"The main point in this new online permit system is to save time for residents," said Director of Community Development Peter Morgan. "When you are dealing with residential customers, it's really a matter of convenience. When you're dealing with tenant and commercial customers, time is money."
Since 2004, the City of Forney has averaged more than 220 residential building permits per fiscal year. The City has also approved an average of more than 24 commercial building permits per fiscal year since 2006.
