KEMP, Texas — City of Kemp water system customers have been advised to boil their water before consumption until further notice due to a water main break.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is requiring the City of Kemp to notify customers of their water system to boil their water prior to consumption due to a 10-inch main water line break.
“To insure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use,” the city stated in their notice. “The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.”
City of Kemp waters system customers will be notified when it is no longer necessary to boil their water before consumption.
Anyone with questions concerning the boil order can contact Kemp City Hall at (903) 498-3191.
