KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — A cold front arriving Wednesday will bring cooler temperatures and the possibility for rain across the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, Texas.
The cold front is expected in Kaufman County in the early- to mid-afternoon and is expected to lower the temperature into the 80s. Rain chances tomorrow evening and overnight for northern Kaufman County range from 50 to 70 percent and between 20 and 40 percent for the remainder of the county (see top left image).
Expect south winds of 5 to 10 miles per hour ahead of the cold front which will become 10 to 15 mile per hour winds as the front passes, according to the NWS. “Expect mostly cloudy skies Wednesday night with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms.”
The total amount of rain isn’t expected to be significant.
The high temperature on Thursday is expected to be in the mid- to high-80s due to a combination of the cold front overnight and anticipated cloud cover behind the cold front.
Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region on Thursday accompanied by 5 to 10 mile per hour northeast winds.
