FORNEY, Texas — The Forney community will hold a prayer vigil for the Harris family after a tragic accident on Monday, August 1, 2015, took their mother’s life and injured the father.
FORNEY, Texas — The Forney community will hold a prayer vigil for the Harris family after a tragic accident on Monday, August 1, 2015, took their mother’s life and injured the father.
The prayer vigil, organized by community members, will be led by Pastor Steve John on Thursday, August 6, 2015, at 8 p.m. at North Forney High School, according to the Facebook event page.
36-year-old Kim Harris, a wife and mother of three, was killed in a tragic accident on Monday and her husband, 37-year-old Johnny Harris, was also injured in the crash.
A GoFundMe campaign was also started to assist the family with funeral expenses as well as back-to-school expenses for the three Harris family children. More than 230 people had raised $12,000 for the family in one day. “I want to say thank you to all my family and friends,” a family member stated. “I may not know all of you but everyone has definitely earned a place in my heart.”
Vigil attendees are encourage to bring candles. A table will also be set up to leave cards for the family.
Funeral services for Kim Harris will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015, at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale at 11 a.m. with burial at Mount Olive Cemetery in Scurry, Texas, at 1 p.m.
