FORNEY, Texas — Traffic on westbound U.S. Highway 80 is slowing due to construction work to repave the highway.
The construction is expected for the next couple of weeks and will result in a single lane closure between the scheduled construction times of 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Crews will close a single lane, either eastbound of westbound, depending on the projects progress to repave U.S. Highway 80 between the Dallas-Kaufman County line and eastbound of Farm-to-Market (FM) 548.
Crews were working on the right lane of westbound U.S. Highway 80 in between Lovers Lane and FM 460 on Monday, August 24, 2015. Traffic was backed up to Pinson Road around noon.
The $9.6 million Texas Department of Transportation contract was awarded to APAC-Texas.
