FORNEY, Texas — Construction on the Lovers Lane roadway project is expected to begin in the coming months, according to the City of Forney.
In a statement earlier this week, the city announced the ongoing sewer replacement project on Lovers Lane is nearing completion and the roadway project is expected to begin in late May or early June.
The roadway project will span from Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 to U.S. Highway 80.
During a December 2015 Forney City Council meeting, Public Works Director Chris Metz stated crews will recondition the sub-grade to 24 inches in accordance with Texas Department of Transportation standards and will condition a little further with a lime stabilization. A new rock base will be applied and two courses of two-inch hot mix asphalt.
Construction was estimated at approximately six months.
