Legal Implications
A second driving while intoxicated charge is considered a serious offense in Kaufman County. Forney Defense Lawyer Robert Guest. stated, “This defendant is facing up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine. The weapons charge probably stems from the DWI arrest. Firearms can be legally transported in a motor vehicle in most circumstances. However, if you are arrested for an offense like DWI, the firearm becomes illegal.”
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
