FORNEY, Texas — Atmos Energy crews are working to repair a gas line struck by a utility company boring to replace aged water lines in the Summerhaven Mobile Home & RV Park.
The utility company was boring in the 600 block of Summerhaven when they struck a gas line estimated at three inches in diameter. According to a company representative, the bore struck the line and caused a couple small holes in the gas line at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014.
Atmos Energy crews arrived on scene a short time later with a backhoe. The Forney Fire Department closed approximately 100 yards of Summerhaven while crews worked to make the repair.
The utility company was boring to replace aged and broken water lines on the street.
Repairs were preliminary estimated to be complete by 5 p.m.
