KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Eastbound Interstate 20 was closed Sunday evening due to a rollover crash near Farm-to-Market (FM) 429 in eastern Kaufman County.

The crash was reported just after 5 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 20 just west of the FM 429 exit and overpass. A sedan overturned in the middle of the highway and came to a rest on its roof — resulting in the closure of both eastbound lanes.

A CareFlite medical helicopter landed on the eastbound lanes of the highway and later transported one individual to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

The Elmo Volunteer Fire Department, a CareFlite ambulance, and the Texas Department of Public Safety also responded to the crash.

The highway re-opened at 6:05 p.m. after a wrecker removed the vehicle.
