TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Fire Department, along with mutual aid from several Kaufman County area fire departments, battled a fire at Bobby's Club in the 1000 block of East Moore Avenue in Terrell, Texas, early Wednesday morning, September 17, 2014.
The Terrell Police Department was originally dispatched to the club at 4:21 a.m. due to a burglary alarm. Police observed the building was secure and the alarm had reset. While waiting for the key holder of the club, the alarm reactivated and police noticed smoke coming from the building and alerted the fire department.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, according to Terrell Fire Marshal Captain Tom Cooper. The fire was determined to have been cause by an electrical problem inside the building. The fire began near an office at the front of the building.
Several area fire departments responded to provide mutual aid including the Terrell Volunteer Fire Department, the Forney Fire Department, and the Kaufman Fire Department.
One lane of westbound East Moore Avenue/U.S. Highway 80 was closed during fire operations. No injuries were reported.
