KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — Family and friends walked the 2015 Walk Like MADD 5K in honor of Dallas County Deputy Constable Guy Farley of Crandall, Texas, who was killed in an alleged drunk driving crash in 2012 on Farm-to-Market (FM) 741.

The team, LAWMAN 417, raised $2,789 for Mothers Against Drunk Drivers as they walked —and remembered Farley— in the 5K last month in Dallas, Texas.

“We want others to realize that drunk driving destroys lives,” Sarah Kilpatrick, Farley’s aunt, told inForney.com. “As said by his wife, Amber, for those that love him, there is a void that can never be filled and an ache in the soul that never goes away.”

“We love and miss him,” she said.

$94,803 was raised at this year’s Dallas event by 737 participants. Walk Like MADD 5Ks are to be held in over 60 cities across the country this year, according to the organization’s website.
