FORNEY, Texas — A final public forum for input on the City of Forney’s future comprehensive plan — the city’s future development steering tool — will be held on Thursday night, April 16, 2015, at City Hall.
Months of planning, public forums, online surveys, and questionnaires culminate Thursday night for final public input as well as to give an insight into the project’s current progress developed by la terra studio and CivicBrand — the firms tasked with the development of the plan and the Imagine Forney campaign, respectively.
The public meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall located at 101 East Main Street.
On January 28, 2015, the planning team presented rough sketches to members of the public as well as city staff, council members, and advisory board members. Thursday night’s public meeting will give final direction for the firm to present a proposed plan to the Forney City Council. With approval, the firm will then finalize a comprehensive plan and present it to the city at a later date.
Working concept drawings include plans for downtown, the Broad Street corridor, a mid-town concept, traffic mitigation actions, and overall development scenarios.
