MESQUITE, Texas — The Forney Fire Department responded to a structure fire Saturday night, November, 29, 2014, at approximately 7:30 p.m., on Farm-to-Market (FM) 2757 after a passing Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw flames coming through the window of a home.
MESQUITE, Texas — The Forney Fire Department responded to a structure fire Saturday night, November, 29, 2014, at approximately 7:30 p.m., on Farm-to-Market (FM) 2757 after a passing Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office deputy saw flames coming through the window of a home.
Firefighters attacked the fire through a bedroom window, where a majority of the fire was contained. Officials said the fire was mostly contained to the one bedroom but the house sustained smoke and water damage.
The Terrell Fire Department responded as mutual aid but was disregarded upon arrival.
Due to the fires location on FM 2757, the Mesquite Fire Department was also dispatched. The home is located in a portion of the Mesquite city limits within Kaufman County. Mesquite Fire Department officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
First responders were initially concerned about occupants being in the home because several vehicles were parked in the driveway. The homeowners were reportedly out of town. No injuries were reported and a family dog was located safely in the backyard.
