ELLIS COUNTY, Texas — The Ellis County Fire Marshal's Office is investigatin an overnight fire which destroyed a home just a couple miles southwest from the Kaufman-Ellis County line.
At approximately midnight, the Telico Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fully-involved two-story house fire in the 4700 block of Farm-to-Market (FM) 1181 in Ellis County. Firefighters were forced to fight the fire defensively because the roof was caving in upon arrival and were unable to clear the house of any potential occupants.
Mutual aid was requested from departments in Alma, Bristol, Ennis, Garrett, and Palmer. Tankers were used to deliver much-needed water to the fire.
The Ellis County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. Its unknown at the time of this report if there were any injuries as a result of the fire. A request for additional information has been made.
