FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department extinguished a car fire on westbound U.S. Highway 80 on Thursday afternoon.
The fire was reported at approximately 5:30 p.m. on westbound U.S. Highway 80 just west of Windmill Farms Boulevard. Firefighters arrived to a fully involved vehicle fire on the shoulder of the highway.
The right lane of the highway was closed until approximately 6:30 p.m. while firefighters were on scene.
The driver was able to safely exit the vehicle prior to firefighters arrival. No injuries were reported.
Its unknown at this time what caused the fire.
