FORNEY, Texas — The Forney Fire Department extinguished a grass fire on Tuesday afternoon near the Windmill Farms neigborhood.
The fire was reported just after 2:45 p.m. in between Windmill Farms Boulevard and Townsend Road — east of the Windmill Farms neighborhood. The Forney Fire Department utilized a brush truck equipped with a remote bumper water turret and a rescue truck to fight the fire which was estimated at approximately three acres in size.
The property owner also used a tractor and disc attachment to cut a fire line ahead of the fire.
The Kaufman County Fire Marshal’s Office was dispatched to the fire and later issued a citation. Kaufman County is currently under a burn ban.
