FORNEY, Texas — Firefighters from Forney and Terrell extinguished a structure fire on Azalea Drive in Forney, Texas, on Thursday afternoon.
The fire was first reported as a couch on fire inside a residence in the 700 block of Azalea drive at the corner of Forestwood Drive.
The Forney Fire Department, Terrell Fire Department, and CareFlite responded to the scene of the fire. The fire was reported knocked down and under control at 1:06 p.m. with the fire reported completely out at 1:41 p.m. Firefighters remain on scene for mop-up and overhaul.
The residents and their pets were able to safely evacuate once the fire started.
The Forney Fire Department Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
